Kueio

Kuêio is a visual artist, illustrator and graffiti artist from the city of São Paulo. Graduated in Fine Arts and Master in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Uberlândia MG, Kuêio has participated in the urban art scene since 1999.

The artist represents, with his cartoon style, comic scenes, characters from the urban universe that are found, in some way, during the conception of graffiti and pixação. Whether representing the action itself of “Pixar” and its behind-the-scenes scenes, or recording “urban moments” captured under the artist's gaze. Kuêio also adds to the concept of his works elements and narratives of the LGBTQI community, of which he is a transgender and homosexual member.

Speaking of modern issues, Kuêio knows what he's up against as one of the only gay men to hit the street art scene, in a society that still struggles to accept homosexuality as a legitimate form of love.
Although he describes himself as a “peripheral” artist whose soul is connected to the city walls, his collaboration – announced in São Paulo – gave him substantial new exposure.
